Gods wrath not to be taken literally.

The word wrath is not to be taken literally. It is what you think He feels towards you when you have blocked Him out. Look:

Know thou, verily, the wrath of God is His justice; the meaning of His wrath is the abasement of those who turn away from Him.” — ‘Abdu’l-Bahá, Tablets of ‘Abdu’l-Bahá

The wrath of God is but the deprivation of His bounties, and His anger is but veiling of His Face.” — Bahá’u’lláh, Tablets of Bahá’u’lláh

May the wrath, the fierce indignation, the vengeance of God rest upon him!
‘Abdu’l-Baha, The Will and Testament of ‘Abdu’l-Bahá

“The ‘wrath of God’ is man’s own withdrawal from God’s Mercy… God is not angry with us in the human sense; it is we who, by our acts, separate ourselves from Him, and thus experience ‘wrath.’”
(from a letter written on behalf of Shoghi Effendi, 1939)

“When it is said that God’s wrath will rest upon the sinner, it must be understood that it is man’s own estrangement from the Source of life which brings suffering upon himself, not that God actively punishes.”
— From Shoghi Effendi’s letters (1930s, summarized guidance to Bahá’ís)

There is so much more that is symbolic in the bible than I first thought, before I read this:
