Enlightenment is not a dead end. I do believe, though, that the enlightenment can be everlasting no matter what (wise things) you do. If we have tasted total freedom and love, what is stopping us from getting to the point of permanent freedom? One thing, that includes a lot of things, is to make every part of us to want this as much as our hearts does. Another is the fear of death. The third is the fear of what other people might do out of envy and hatred. The last two are linked together in a way.
The first might take a long time to attain.(I am speaking for my self now. I don't know how long time the saints had to use on this issue.) The second doesn't have to take so long if one is lucky enough to feel pain enough to see death as a relief. The third is a tricky one. I think the fear of others' envy is just a misplacement. One can happily share the love to anyone no matter what. One who can take part of the light/love/ freedom you radiate will not hate you but enjoy the love. The one who thinks that this love is something he can have and to hold have misunderstood.
One may think there is something one self must do to achieve enlightenment. Really there isn't, because "I" am the one who must die. And to be able to let go of this "I" I have to find myself free and unidentified with it.And from that view I see that "I" is just an illusion. Then I can let go of it as I would do with a worn wool jacket on a mid-summers day.
So all parts of us must want to come to the same goal to reach it.The child in me and the grown-up part both seek God but for different reasons! The child seek love to be free ,and the grown-up wants to give love, unfortunately, I first thought, but when I asked: how is it possible to come to the goal, then? Jesus said/showed me that the child could believe in the love in others!
That way the child can feel free in the love, and the grown up could give by believing people want to receive the freedom/love. Is it so that the child is seeking love to mirror it? By that I mean; do the child want to show the creation/it self in it's pure form? And the grown-up wants to give the child the love the child can show it self in? The love is like light, like a mirror one can see ones true self in,or what?
